What Nanbu is

Nanbu is a membership platform for Indian creators. A creator sets up a page at nanbu.in/their-handle, offers a monthly membership, and shares posts, updates, and - on eligible memberships - direct messages with the people who support them. Members pay by UPI, in rupees, at prices creators set themselves.

The name comes from nanban - friend. That is the relationship the product is built around: not an audience measured in the thousands, but a smaller circle of people who choose to support someone’s work directly, and a creator who shows up for them.

How it works

  • For members: subscribe to a creator’s membership (Rs 49 to Rs 999 per month) via UPI AutoPay. You get their members-only posts and updates, and - when the creator includes it - direct messages. Cancel any time.
  • For creators: apply from Settings with any Nanbu account. Once approved, you get your public page, your memberships, posting, updates to all your supporters, DMs, and a creator home that shows real numbers from real activity. Payouts begin at launch, and then run every week.

What it costs

Joining as a member costs whatever the creator’s membership costs - Nanbu adds no fee on top. For creators, the standard platform fee is 15% of what you earn here - memberships, tips, gifts, prepaid bundles and single-post purchases alike. Founding Creators pay 0% for their first 60 days and 10% for the three years after that: the whole window is 60 days plus three years, not three years in total. The clock starts the day paid memberships launch, so no founding time is spent while money is off. Founding Creator status is automatic for every creator approved during the Public Beta. How we operate

  • Real numbers only. Every count shown anywhere on Nanbu is a live query against real activity. We do not fabricate social proof, and we ask the same of creators.
  • No engagement algorithm. Your feeds are ordered by time, always complete, and never reordered for attention. Discovery ranks creators by an explainable, published method (see how discovery works); likes, comments, and watch time are never inputs, and posts are never ranked.
  • Moderated before visible. Every image, video and document uploaded to Nanbu is checked before any member can see it. This is a strictly non-NSFW platform.
  • Web-first and India-first. Nanbu is a mobile-friendly web app built around UPI and rupee pricing - not a global product with India as an afterthought.
