What Nanbu is
Nanbu is a membership platform for Indian creators. A creator sets up a page at nanbu.in/their-handle, offers monthly membership tiers, and shares posts, updates, and - at higher tiers - direct messages with the people who support them. Members pay by UPI, in rupees, at prices creators set themselves.
The name comes from nanban - friend. That is the relationship the product is built around: not an audience measured in the thousands, but a smaller circle of people who choose to support someone’s work directly, and a creator who shows up for them.
How it works
- For members: subscribe to a creator’s tier (Rs 49 to Rs 999 per month) via UPI AutoPay. You get their members-only feed and updates, and on tiers of Rs 199 and above, direct messages. Cancel any time.
- For creators: apply from Settings with any Nanbu account. Once approved, you get your public page, tiered memberships, posting, updates to all your supporters, DMs, and a creator home that shows real numbers from real activity. Earnings are paid out weekly.
What it costs
Joining as a member costs whatever the creator’s tier costs - Nanbu adds no fee on top. For creators, the standard platform fee is 15% of subscription revenue. Founding Creators pay 0% for their first 60 days and 10% for five years from approval. The full fee and payout terms are in the Creator Terms.
How we operate
- Real numbers only. Every count shown anywhere on Nanbu is a live query against real activity. We do not fabricate social proof, and we ask the same of creators.
- No engagement algorithm. Feeds are ordered by time, and discovery follows one simple, explainable rule. Nanbu does not rank people against each other for attention.
- Moderated before visible. Every image and video uploaded to Nanbu is scanned before any member can see it. This is a strictly non-NSFW platform.
- Web-first and India-first. Nanbu is a mobile-friendly web app built around UPI and rupee pricing - not a global product with India as an afterthought.
