Creator Terms

Last updated: August 20, 2026

1. About These Terms

These Creator Terms apply to every person who applies for or holds a creator account on Nanbu (“Creator”). They are in addition to, not in place of, the Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy, which continue to apply to you in full. If these Creator Terms conflict with the Terms of Service on a matter specific to creators, these Creator Terms prevail.

You accept these Creator Terms when you submit a creator application. We record the date, time, and version of the terms you accepted.

2. Applying to Become a Creator

  • Every Nanbu account can apply to become a creator from Settings. Creator status is added on top of your account - you remain a member and can subscribe to other creators with the same login.
  • Every application is checked before a page goes live. An established YouTube channel, verified through Google at or above the subscriber threshold we set, is approved on that verification alone; every other application is reviewed by our team. We may approve, reject, or request more information at our discretion, and approval is not guaranteed. A rejected or suspended creator application does not affect the member side of your account.
  • All information you provide during application and onboarding (identity, contact, payout, and tax details) must be accurate, complete, and kept up to date. Providing false information is grounds for rejection or termination.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age and able to enter into a legally binding contract under Indian law.

3. Merchant of Record & Taxes

  • You are the merchant of record for your subscription revenue. Invoices to your members show you as the seller. Nanbu is the merchant of record only for its own platform fee.
  • You are responsible for your own tax compliance, including GST registration where applicable and income tax on your earnings. We collect your GST status (registered, or unregistered below the services threshold) before you are first paid, and it must be kept accurate - it determines how your invoices are issued.
  • As an e-commerce operator, Nanbu is required to collect Tax Collected at Source (TCS) under Section 52 of the CGST Act on the net value of taxable supplies you make through the platform. TCS is an advance-tax mechanism, not an additional platform charge - registered creators can claim it back as credit.
  • Nothing on this page is tax advice. Consult your own tax professional for your specific situation.

4. Platform Fees & Payouts

4.1 Platform Fee

  • The standard platform fee is 15% of your earnings on the platform - memberships, tips, gift memberships, prepaid bundles, and single-post purchases alike.
  • Founding Creators - automatically, every creator approved during the Public Beta - pay 0% for their first 60 days from the day paid memberships launch, then 10% for the three years after that, after which the standard rate applies. The whole window is 60 days plus three years, not three years in total.
  • The fee rate applied to each transaction is fixed at the time of that transaction. A later change in your status does not retroactively change fees already applied.
  • Payment-gateway charges and taxes applicable to the platform fee are handled as shown in your dashboard’s earnings breakdown.

4.2 Payouts

  • Earnings are paid out weekly to the payout destination (UPI ID or bank account) you have verified with us. You are responsible for keeping it correct.
  • A payout can only be made after your identity and your payout destination are verified. Until that is complete we hold nothing back permanently: your earnings stay unpaid and roll into the next weekly run once verification clears.
  • We may withhold or delay a payout while we investigate suspected fraud, a chargeback pattern, or a violation of these terms, and may deduct amounts refunded to members under the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • If your account is terminated for a policy violation, pending payouts may be withheld or forfeited as described in the Terms of Service.

5. Pricing & Membership Rules

  • Your membership is priced by you, in Indian Rupees, between Rs 49 and Rs 999 per month. These limits are enforced by the platform.
  • Direct-message access is only ever part of a membership, and only when you choose to include it. A member can open a thread with you only while their membership is current: a free trial never includes messaging, and neither does a membership that has ended. This is enforced by the platform, not by the interface - it is part of how we keep messaging safe. During the Public Beta memberships are granted free, so a member who joined for nothing can message you if you have included messaging.
  • Direct messages are a subscription perk. Charging per message, or offering pay-to-unlock content inside chat, is not permitted.
  • One-time tips from members start at Rs 9; the amount is chosen by the member.
  • You may offer a free trial on a membership. A trial member sees everything a paying member sees for the trial period, except direct messages, which never open on a trial.
  • You may offer an individual members-only post for a one-time payment. The price is yours to set, from Rs 9 up to strictly below your membership price - the membership must always be the better deal, and this is enforced by the platform. A membership always includes every post, including posts offered this way; a single-post purchase never includes messaging, chat, or any other membership benefit.
  • A single-post purchase is final for the member (see the Refund and Cancellation Policy) and opens that post for them for as long as it stays published. If that payment is ever returned or reversed, by refund or by a bank dispute, their access to the post ends with it. Keep posts that members have paid to open available: deleting one removes their access to something they paid for, and repeated removal of purchased content may be treated as a violation of these terms.

6. Your Content

  • You retain ownership of your content, and you grant Nanbu the limited operating license described in Section 4 of the Terms of Service.
  • You are solely responsible for everything you publish. You must hold all rights, licenses, and permissions for the content you upload, and it must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy (Section 5 of the Terms of Service) and applicable Indian law. Nanbu is a strictly non-NSFW platform.
  • Adult content is banned outright, not merely discouraged. Publishing or transmitting sexually explicit material is a criminal offence in India (Information Technology Act, Sections 67 and 67A) regardless of consent or payment, and it also violates the terms of our payment partner. A confirmed violation ends the creator account. Material involving minors is reported to the police, as the law requires of us.
  • Every image, video and document you upload is checked before it becomes visible to anyone. Images are scanned by automated moderation; every document waits for a person to read it, and video waits for either the automated video scan or a person. Flagged content is held for manual review and is never auto-published. Content that fails review is not published, and repeated violations put your creator account at risk. A voice note is the one exception: it publishes as soon as you post it, because automated moderation cannot analyse speech, and it stays subject to the same rules and to member reports.
  • Media you share with members is delivered through short-lived, access-checked links tied to an active membership - never a public file address. This does not alter your original files.
  • You may delete comments that members leave on your posts. Moderating your own space responsibly is part of keeping it worth paying for.

7. Your Relationship with Members

  • Deliver what your membership promises. Its description is a commitment to the members who pay for them - keep them accurate, and update it before changing what your membership includes.
  • Refunds and cancellations are handled under the platform’s Refund & Cancellation Policy, which applies to your subscriptions.
  • Do not use the platform to solicit payments outside it, or to direct your members to complete on-platform transactions elsewhere.
  • Treat members with respect in DMs and comments. Harassment, spam, and solicitation rules in the Terms of Service apply to creators with at least the same force as they apply to members.

8. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate creator status for violations of these Creator Terms or the Terms of Service, as described in Section 6 of the Terms of Service. Suspension or termination of creator status does not by itself close the member side of your account. You may stop being a creator at any time by contacting us; amounts legitimately earned before closure are paid out in the normal payout cycle, subject to Section 4.2 above.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Creator Terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notified to your registered email address. Continuing to use your creator account after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
