Nanbu is in Public Beta
Nanbu is a membership platform for Indian creators. The product is built and running, and the Public Beta is the stage where it is open to everyone with payments switched off. Creators set up their page, share members-only work, send updates, and talk to their circle. Supporters join a circle for free and see everything a member sees. No member is charged and no creator is paid while the beta runs.
What the Public Beta is
The Public Beta is Nanbu open to the public, with money switched off.
Everything else works, and works the way it will after launch. A creator applies, is reviewed by a person, claims their handle, sets their membership price, and posts photos, videos, voice notes and writing that only their members can open. They send updates with polls, run a circle chat, and answer direct messages where they have included them in their membership. A supporter finds a creator, joins their circle, reads the members-only work, comments, saves posts, and takes part in the chat.
What is off is money. No payment is taken, no UPI AutoPay mandate is created, no platform fee is charged, no receipt is issued, and no payout runs. The payment features are built and tested. They are switched off, not missing.
What it costs
The Public Beta costs nothing, for everyone, for as long as it runs.
If you join a circle. Joining is free during the Public Beta. No payment method is saved, no UPI AutoPay mandate is set up, and no payment is scheduled. You get what a member gets: the members-only posts, the updates, the circle chat, and direct messages where the creator has included them.
If you are a creator. There is no fee to be on Nanbu during the beta, and there is nothing to take a share of, because no member is charged. Set your membership price anyway. It is real, it is the price your membership will cost at launch, and it is one less decision to make on the day money starts moving.
Tips, prepaid months, and gift memberships are built and switched off. They open when paid memberships launch.
What you keep after the beta
Founding Creator
The first 1,000 approved creators are Founding Creators, automatically, in the order they are approved. There is no application for it and no admin decision behind it.
A Founding Creator pays no platform fee for their first 60 days, and 10% for the three years after that, in place of the standard 15%. That means keeping 100% of what your members pay for the first 60 days, and 90% for the three years that follow.
Founding Creator rewards begin when paid memberships launch, not while payments are disabled during beta. No part of the 60 days and no part of the three years is spent while the beta runs.
Founding Supporter
Anyone who joins a creator’s circle during the Public Beta is a Founding Supporter of that circle.
It is per circle, because the relationship is with the creator and not with Nanbu. Someone who joins four creators during the beta is a Founding Supporter of four circles.
A Founding Supporter keeps three things.
- A Founding Supporter badge beside their name in that circle.
- Three months of free membership after paid memberships launch. You joined for free, so you are never charged for something you did not agree to pay for. At the end of the three months the membership ends unless you choose to subscribe.
- Their place in the circle’s history. Nanbu already records the order people arrived in, and that record does not change.
Founding Supporter status belongs to the relationship, not to a membership. It stays if the membership ends, and it stays if someone leaves a circle and comes back later.
There is no cash, no platform credit, no discount on the creator’s price, and no ranking of supporters against each other. The creator’s price is the creator’s money, and it is not ours to spend.
When the beta ends
Nanbu is currently in Public Beta. We will launch paid memberships once we are confident the experience is stable and creators tell us it is ready.
There is no announced end date. When the date is decided, every creator and every member hears it from us before anything changes.
Nothing turns into a paid membership on its own. At launch, a Founding Supporter’s membership continues free for three months, and it ends after that unless they choose to subscribe. Nobody is charged without deciding to be.
Get ready for payouts now
Creator verification is open during the beta, and it is worth finishing early.
Verify your PAN and payout account to start receiving your earnings. It takes seconds. No documents needed. You choose one payout destination, either a UPI ID or a bank account.
Doing this during the beta means your account is ready on the first day money moves. Start from the Verification page in your creator tools.
What you post during the beta stays
The beta is not a rehearsal. Posts, updates, polls, comments, saved posts and circle chats made during the beta are real, and they stay. Nothing is cleared when paid memberships launch, and no account is reset.
Today is the one thing that does not stay, and only because that is what it is for. A Today lasts 24 hours, during the beta and after it.
Moderation runs throughout. Every image and video is scanned before any member can see it, exactly as it will be after launch.
Report a bug or send feedback
If something is broken, or the product does something you did not expect, write to founders@nanbu.in. A short description helps, and a screenshot helps more. That inbox goes to the people building Nanbu.
For help with your account, use Contact Us. It lists our support address and our Grievance Officer.
Feedback from the beta decides what gets fixed before paid memberships launch.
Creators can apply from Settings with any Nanbu account.
